There is so much to be excited about when it comes to electric cars. They are considered the future of modern transportation, and that’s why we’re going to take a look at the Top 10 new electric cars that hit the roads in 2023.

10. Audi A6 E-Tron - 00:15
Audi first unveiled the concept of the car in 2021. One of the first things that will catch your eye is the sick design of the car. The detailing is quite intricate and shows how much Audi has invested in creating futuristic designs.

9. Mercedes-Benz EQG-Class - 01:04
Fans of the Mercedes G-Wagon series will not have a problem transitioning to this. This electric car is not too different from the G-Wagon, but this one has 22-inch alloy wheels and does not have a tire at the back. One peculiar feature that is prominent all around the car is the LED light surrounding the car.

8. Ford Explorer EV 2023 - 01:44
Ford has come out to say that in 2023 most of the cars lined up for that year will be electric vehicles. This new Ford Explorer will have a gasoline turbo four-engine and, in other cases, will have a 3.0 liter v6, which will be accompanied by 365hp.

This will be great news for Cadillac lovers, but the truth is told, the car company has been swarmed by its competition in recent years. The future of SUVs, as they call it, is a sight to behold. The reports say that if this car goes into production on time, it could feature in the upcoming James Bond movie. Maybe a rumor, but it is still an interesting prospect, but there is still much we need to know about the car.

This truck is rumored to be an all-wheel drive or a rear-wheel drive. Dual motor configurations will generate 600 horsepower. The truck will also have 550 lb-ft torque.

This is not BMW’s first rodeo at making electric cars; however, this could be the peak of the bunch. The i7 is a dual-motor electric car that has a power output of up to 536 horsepower and 549 lb-ft of torque. Also, BMW states that the car can go from 0 - 60 within 4 seconds.

The exterior is made of stainless steel, which makes it an almost impenetrable car. The glass is so solid that you will not have to worry about cracks because it is made from polymer-layered composite.
In terms of performance, the Cyber truck has 3500 pounds of payload capacity in its arsenal and also can pull a weight of up to 14,000 pounds. The cyber truck can go 0 - 60 in under three seconds and has 500 miles of range per charge. The interior is covered with a 17-inch touch screen display and ultra-modern seats for comfort no matter the road.

This talk will challenge the popular perception that Battery Electric Vehicles (BEVs) are environmentally friendly, and will argue that we are inappropriately rushing the market introduction of these vehicles. BEVs are commonly sold under the guise of being ‘Zero Emissions,’ an assertion that is not true by any definition. Brake pads produce emissions, as do
tires and even interiors under sunlight. The electricity that powers BEVs is generated by power plants, 64% of which burn fossil fuels in the U.S.—fossil fuels that contribute to greenhouse gas emissions and global warming. Even more importantly, there are significant CO2 emissions
created during the manufacture of the battery pack, meaning that in order to offset the carbon created during the production process, a BEV must drive 40,000 - 100,000 miles before being environmentally comparable to a gasoline-powered vehicle. Hybrid vehicles, on the other hand,
which combine much smaller batteries with efficient internal combustion engines, have been shown to be a much better option for lowering global CO2. Unfortunately, they do not receive the same marketable ‘kudos’ or policy backing as full BEVs. We are headed down the wrong path by
rolling out BEVs before making the manufacturing and electricity generation CO2 neutral. Dr. Graham Conway is a Principal Engineer in the Automotive Division at Southwest Research Institute. For the last ten years he has been immersed in evaluating automotive technologies and consulting for car companies and suppliers. This gives him unique insights and perspectives on the industry. He is passionate about making vehicles more efficient to ensure the future of the planet and has a message to share about some common misconceptions about electric and non-electric vehicles. This is British brand MG’s ‘ID.’ moment. While the Chinese-owned firm has dabbled with EVs in the past – including the impressive affordable ZS crossover and MG5 estate – this MG4 family hatchback is where the company’s push with its next generation of models really begins. That’s why, in almost every sense, you can see parallels with Volkswagen’s ID.3 – hence this being a crucial car for MG.

For a start, both models are competing in the same sector and aiming for the same buyers: everyone from city dwellers to families who might use the MG4 as a second car, as well as company car drivers keen to cut their Benefit-in-Kind tax bill.

There are even more similarities when you analyse the key figures. The MG4 EV is based on an all-new platform for the brand, called MSP, which stands for Modular Scalable Platform. Like the ID.3, it employs a rear-mounted motor producing 200bhp, which is fed by a 64kWh battery in this top-spec Trophy Long Range version for a claimed range of 270 miles. Opt for the more affordable SE Long Range and this increases to 281 miles. Meanwhile, all MG4s have 150kW rapid charging, so a 10-80 per cent top-up for the bigger battery takes 35 minutes. Use a 7kW home wallbox and it’ll take nine hours to fully replenish. As Nicola Hume finds out, the MG4 is a credible EV competitor, irrespective of the low asking price.

Toyota’s current CEO, Akio Toyoda, the grandson of the founder of Toyota, Kiichiro Toyoda, oversaw the development and production of many of these models, even before he was named the CEO of the company. Toyota had, under Akio’s leadership, reached new heights, and both the fanbase and model pallet grew larger and much more varied. Since he became the CEO back in 2009, Toyota has saturated the hybrid market that it itself kickstarted, and Toyota has continually been the leader in terms of sales when for both hybrids and petrol-powered cars for the past twenty years. Also, the brand even experienced a sort of renaissance under his leadership, as Toyota started making a couple of their legacy sportscars, like the Toyota Supra Mk5, and the GT86 and GR86, both of which are spiritual successors to the vastly popular AE86 Corolla, one of the first truly affordable Japanese enthusiast cars. All of these cars were massive hits, as Akio, who is a major gearhead himself, was also a seasoned racecar driver, and could therefore fully understand the market and what it wanted. However, Toyota has yet to conquer the world of EVs. Unfortunately for Toyota’s eager fans, the 66-year-old has been very quiet in the past when it comes to EVs and Toyota’s possible involvement in the EV market. Even though they’ve technically entered the market this April with the Toyota bZ4X, a single model won’t be enough to do any significant damage to their rivals. Not only that, but Toyota seems to primarily continue funding the development of their hybrid vehicles, seemingly with no intention of straying away from internal combustion engines anytime soon.
